Youth and Family Programs

At Susannah Wesley Community Center, we believe strong families are the foundation for thriving youth and healthy communities. Our Youth & Family Programs provide comprehensive, culturally responsive support to strengthen family relationships, prevent truancy, and nurture positive youth development.

  • Family Stabilization, Strengthening & Educational Advancement Program (FSSEAP)

Formerly our Home-Based Parenting Program, FSSEAP is designed to support TANF-eligible families, with a special focus on those living in the Kalihi-Palama area. The program works with the entire family unit, offering:

Basic material needs assistance to ease financial stress.

Resource education and connection to community services.

Parenting education and family case management to strengthen bonds and stability.

Mental health support to promote wellness and resilience.

Youth enrichment and life-skill activities for ages 7–21, including mentoring and leadership development.

Educational advancement support such as tutoring, academic performance monitoring, and guidance in navigating the school system.

  • Positive Youth Development

We partner with schools and families to engage at-risk middle school students in positive alternatives to truancy. Through mentoring, academic support, and consistent encouragement, youth gain the tools to stay in school and succeed.

  • After-School Programs

Our after-school programs provide safe, structured spaces where youth ages 7–21 can build life skills, discover new interests, and form meaningful relationships with mentors and peers. Activities focus on personal growth, leadership, and academic advancement.

Across all programs, our commitment is to empower families and youth to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and reach their fullest potential.
