The Rev. Jessica Kawamura serves as the pastor of Wahiawa United Methodist Church. The great-granddaughter of sugar plantation workers, Jessica cares deeply about the legacy of the Susannah Wesley Community Center and the importance of empowering people at the margins of our society. Prior to becoming a pastor, Jessica earned her Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California at Berkeley, focusing on safety net programs for children and families. In her prior career, she worked as a federal budget analyst in Washington, DC and as a consultant in EY’s financial services risk management in New York City. Jessica brings this experience, along with her passion for social justice, to her service on the Susannah Wesley Community Center Board.
