The following positions are available:

Department: Family & Youth Services

Family Support Specialist I

Position Overview: Seeking a highly motivated, organized, team-focused individual who has the capacity and competency to develop relationships with vulnerable families in the Kalihi community and provide family stabilization and strengthening services, including individual and small group learning sessions.

This position develops relationships and supports clients in the SWCC Youth and Families Services programs and the community at-large through pop up service events. Key duties include: provide practical help and emotional support to families experiencing short or long-term difficulties; establish relationships with individual families, assess their needs and eligibility for various types of public assistance, and support them through the application processes. 

Requires a high level of compassion, understanding of the service population, discretion, and professionalism.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or A.A. degree with demonstrated knowledge of the targeted service population or high school diploma/GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Additional Requirements: Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance; 2) Criminal Background Check; 3) Child Protective Service/Adult Protective Service check; and 4) Valid Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.

Desired Qualities: Ability to work well with various ethnic groups and values accountability and performance management.

Department: Trafficking Victim Services

Case Manager (FT, PT, On-Call):
Provide crisis response services, intake assessment, trauma informed and victim centered case management services, supportive counseling and services to adult/youth victims and their parents/guardians/caregivers.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s in social services with 2 years experience working with victims (preferred) or minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social services with 6 months experience working with victims of human trafficking. Must have the ability to work independently, thrive in high pressure situations, handle highly sensitive confidential information, and patience to cope with clients struggling to utilize appropriate coping skills will be given precedence.
Knowledge, experience and language capacity in working with various Pacific Island cultures highly desirable in addition to meeting minimum requirements.

On-Call Community Support Worker:
On-Call Community Support Worker position assists in various agency and program areas, community events/projects, and with maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the building and grounds of the Susannah Wesley Community Center.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, possession of valid driver’s license, clean traffic abstract, ability to successfully pass background clearances and ability to lift 50 lbs.
